Texas Municipal Tree Definitions

Impervious Cover (Surface)

 

Alamo Heights

any surface material or surface treatment or surface condition which sheds fifty (50) percent or more of rainfall, or water, which falls on it.

 

Baytown

area means any surface area that prevents infiltration of water into the soil. Impervious surface may include, but not be limited to, those surfaces covered by asphalt, concrete, crushed stone, clay, bedrock, limestone and compacted soil.

 

Dallas

means coverage with any pavement that is not permeable pavement.

 

Denton

means a surface that has been compacted or covered with a layer of material so that it is highly resistant to infiltration by water.

 

Duncanville

coverage with nonpermeable pavement. "Nonpermeable pavement" means any pavement that is not "permeable pavement" as defined in this section.

 

Hunters Creek Village

shall mean concrete, tar, asphalt, brick pavers or similar paving materials.

 

Little Elm

a substance that does not allow the passage of water through it.

 

Infected with Disease

 

Amarillo

any Tree, shrub or plant possessing a disease such as virus, Dutch elm disease, chestnut blight, cotton root rot and other similar organisms to such an extent as to render timely, recognized, standard control measures or treatment ineffective.

 

Infested with Insects

 

Amarillo

any Tree, shrub or plant which has been attacked by insects to such an extent as to render timely, recognized, standard control measures ineffective.

 

Island

 

Beaumont

a curbed landscaped area in a parking lot that is surrounded on all sides by parking spaces.
